The TCC liaises with the National Council of Churches in Australia’s (NCCA) overseas aid agency, Act For Peace and promotes the national agency’s work in Tasmania. This is co-ordinated by a nominated member of the TCC Executive, currently the Reverend Carolyn Field.
Act For Peace conducts the annual Christmas Bowl Appeal to support Christian overseas aid work.

The TCC's former Commission for Christian World Service (CWS) evolved from its predecessor, the TCC World Justice and Development Commission, in 2003 to provide a clearer focus for CWS work in Tasmania, through closer alignment with the National Council of Churches in Australia’s CWS commission (in 2008 renamed Act For Peace). Between 2008 and 2016, responsibility for Act For Peace promotion and education in Tasmania was the responsibility of the Act For Peace Community Fundraising Team’s Development Officer for Victoria & Tasmania, Mr Jeff Wild, based in Melbourne. From 2018, Mr Andy Corkill, Relationship Fundraising Manager with Act For Peace in Sydney became the Act For Peace officer liaising with the TCC.
The main areas of Act For Peace involvement in Tasmania are:
- the Christmas Bowl Appeal
- Refugee Week
- educational visits by NCCA staff
- media promotions
- preparation and distribution of resource/promotional material.
